Tom Field was the talk of Brentford on Saturday night after his highly impressive debut in the west London derby against Fulham.

The 19-year-old, making his debut for the Bees, produced an assured performance and bagged an assist for Scott Hogan's second goal and Brentford's third of the afternoon.

Field spoke to GetWestLondon after the game and expressed his delight at making his debut as well as staking his own claim for Jake Bidwell's spot.

The Bees players were naturally delighted to see the young full back do so well in such a high-stakes game for the club and paid tribute to him as they left the ground.

Sam Saunders

“I thought he was good. He did a great ball for the goal. I had instructions to make sure he was okay on the left hand side today and he didn't need it.

“Josh Clarke has also come in and been fantastic as well. The lads that have worked hard have got their chance and the lads that didn't have been sent on their way.”

Maxime Colin

“He played really well. We don't really know him and it was a chance for him to prove what he can do. He played really well and it's good for the future.”

Yoann Barbet

“He was brilliant. For his first game to be in the derby, it was really good. I've played with him a few times in the development squad. He did really really well.”
