Fulham ended a run of three-successive league defeats after Bryan Ruiz bagged a late winner against Reading on Saturday.

The Costa Rican World Cup star climbed off the bench to snatch all three points when he nodded in Cauley Woodrow's header across goal to seal a 2-1 victory.

Alex Kacaniklic marked a first Fulham start of the season with the opening goal on 55 minutes, only for Pavel Pogrebnyak to hit back for the Royals.

However, Valencia target Ruiz landed the decisive blow in the third minute of stoppage-time.

Boss Kit Symons said: “It looked very much like it was going to be a draw, which probably would have been a fair enough result.

"I always felt we had the quality to pop up with another goal, I didn’t expect it to be quite so late, but I was delighted to see it go in."
