Jose Mourinho has heaped praise on two of his victorious Anfield team saying two players put their bodies on the line for glory.
Liverpool had taken the lead through Emre Can before Jose Mourinho’s side levelled through Gary Cahill and went on to claim victory thanks to powerhouse Costa.
"The players expressed ambition, especially in the second half,” he said. “Here, every team would accept a point, my team did not accept a point.
“The way they performed in the second half, was an expression of that ambition.
"They have self-belief and confidence. It's three important points, but sometimes you get points, and don't deserve it. But this wasn't the case here - best team won."
Praising two of his midfielders, he continued: “I need to say that Ramires and Fabregas started the game injured.
“They both risked everything to help us. So maybe I will lose them for a match of two, but this was the game [that mattered].
“This is not a game in two or three weeks time, it was today and they were needed.
"And I'm sure other players will do that for the team in the future too.
“Ramires has an long-standing abductor (hip) injury while Fabregas has a hamstring problem. Fabregas and I gambled on his inclusion. He will join Spain, but he won't play, he will be back."
