Toumani Diagouraga is confident he has proved his critics wrong and hopes to earn a new deal at Brentford.

The Frenchman looked to be on his way out of Griffin Park in the summer and was linked to a move to League One Coventry City.

But the midfielder has forced his way into Warburton's plans and starred in Friday's west London derby win against Fulham.

He said: "I'm very pleased. I need to keep my head down and keep trying to do as well as I can stay to stay in the team.

"I think people doubted whether I could play at this level, but I've gone out there and shown what I can do.

"I need to keep playing football and hopefully the rest will take care of myself."
