John Terry believes new signing Deco is the man who will help bring an unprecedented treble haul of silverware back to Stamford Bridge this season.

Terry felt the disappointment more than most last season, as Chelsea were beaten at the final hurdle of three competitions.

"We were nearly there last year," he said. "Almost won the Carling Cup, almost the Premier League, almost the Champions League. Very close but... it wasn't enough.

"We have to raise the bar this year and set ourselves the bar to win the Premier League, the FA Cup and get back to the final of the Champions League and win it."

And it is the Portuguese playmaker who Terry believes can deliver that little extra.

"I never realised how good Deco was," said Terry. "He's probably one of the best. He can pass the ball, he opens up defences, he makes it look so easy."

Deco could have a rude awakening on Sunday when he will make his full debut against Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth.
