Chris Moore last night parted company with Wealdstone - and he might not be the only one heading for a Grosvenor Vale exit.

The experienced striker confirmed his departure via his Twitter account yesterday evening and the club confirmed the decision this morning.

His position had been placed in doubt following the arrival of former Crawley Town and Hayes & Yeading forward Michael Malcolm at the weekend.

Malcolm went straight into the starting line-up for the weekend defeat at Canvey Island, while Moore had to settle for a place on the bench in Essex.

Gordon Bartlett told Get West London earlier this week that he was looking to cut the wage bill following the arrival of Malcolm and ex-Hendon man Carl McCluskey.

“When you bring people in, it changes the dynamics of the squad,” Bartlett said.

“One or two have got to look at their own situation. We had three missing on Saturday so we needed those extra couple of bodies in there but now we must balance the books a little bit as well. We’ll see how the week develops but there are one or two we need to have a chat with.”

Moore began his career at Brentford as a trainee before moving on to Uxbridge, Northwood and Dagenham & Redbridge. He joined Wealdstone in the winter of 2012.
