FORMER Arsenal and England midfielder Paul Merson, and ex Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers legend 'Sir' Les Ferdinand will line up in a Professionals and Celebrity Dream Team who will take on the Non League All Stars on Saturday in a benefit match for Edgware Town FC's joint manager Del Deanus.

Former England schoolboy international Del, 34, was recently diagnosed with the terminal illness motor neurone disease.

Joining Merson and Ferdinand in the Dream Team will be numerous music and film celebrities, including renowned DJ Brandon Block, Radio Five's DJ Spoony, and cast members from Sky TV's Dream Team.

The Non League team, which will be managed by Del's managerial partner at Edgware, Steve Newing, will consist of players from many local clubs.

Among those expected to play are Wealdstone's Dean Papali, Ryan Ashe and Peter Dean, Wayne Walters and Jamie Lawrence of Harrow Borough, Wembley player manager Ian Bates, Hendon's

James Burgess, Mark Burgess and Noel Imber of Boreham Wood, and Marcus Gayle and Luke Garrard of AFC Wimbledon.

An amazing array of unique football, golf and showbiz merchandise will be raffled on the day, including signed QPR, Watford, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea shirts and balls. There will also be the chance to bid for Joe Cole's England shirt from his man of the match performance against Switzerland in Fabio Capello's first game in charge.

As well as the football, there will be plenty to do on the day, with bouncy castles and face painting for the kids, and a licensed bar, refreshment stalls and on-pitch half time entertainment for adults.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s, with free admission for children under five years, and are on sale at the ground on the day of the match.

The game kicks off at 3pm at Edgware's White Lion Ground, High Street, Edgware.

Parking is limited at the stadium so people are advised to park in the surrounding side streets.
