NICKY Shorey admits he wasn't surprised that Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final clash with Tottenham Hotspur ended in a stalemate.

The Fulham full-back has now helped Roy Hodgson's side to six clean sheets in his last seven appearances since his loan switch from Aston Villa.

And although Zoltan Gera came closest to winning it for the West London Whites, Shorey says a goalless draw was on the cards.

He said: "We work a lot on team shape anyway. It's drilled into us to keep organised, and you need to be against a team like Tottenham that plays flowing football and likes to get forward.

"It was a very tight game against two very organised teams, trying to play their football and cancelling eachother out."
