A plot of land in Hounslow where Brentford once wanted to build a new ground could be the new home of a reborn Southall FC.

The once-famous non-league club, who reached the FA Vase Final in 1986 and produced the likes of Alan Devonshire, Gordon Hill and Les Ferdinand, went bust two years ago.

But a Hounslow businessman is bidding to reform the club and base them at Western International Market in Cranford.

The plan is currently being pored over by Hounslow Council. In the meantime, the club is forming links in the borough by holding two weeks of coaching for kids at Lampton School, Hounslow, from August 4.
