Fans travelling to Brentford vs Bristol City should be advised that due to a train derailing after colliding with a wagon outside Waterloo.
There are engineering works going on at the London terminus already and the incident has led to the cancellation of trains that use the Hounslow Loop at Brentford.
Fans travelling to the game are advised to avoid using South West Trains for the rest of the day.
A South West Trains statement read: “An earlier points failure and an unrelated low-speed partial derailment has caused extensive disruption to services this morning.
“Trains are unable to use platforms 1 to 13 at London Waterloo and this reduction in available platforms means that many services will need to terminate before London Waterloo and many services will start away from London Waterloo.
“Most trains are experiencing severe delays and are subject to short notice alterations. Disruption to services is likely to persist until the end of service on 16th August 2017.
“Train service information for tomorrow (16th August 2017) will be included in this message later today as more information becomes known.”
It continued: “Due to the time and place this event has occured, please be aware that the morning peak trains and stations will be very busy. South West Trains are advising not to travel on the network today.
“Our trains and stations are very busy. You should consider using alternative routes.”
Below are a number of alternative suggested routes for fans travelling to tonight's game.
Ealing Broadway
For those travelling from the west, it is advisable to travel to Ealing Broadway, using First Great Western services.
From Ealing Broadway go outside the station and turn right to pick up the 65 bus, which stops outside the Ealing Road exits.
Commuters from Central London can also travel to Ealing Broadway via the Central or District Lines.
Walking to Griffin Park takes around 40 minutes but there are a number of pubs on the way.
South Ealing/Northfields
If coming from central London the best route would be to either take the London Underground to Ealing Broadway or, alternatively, South Ealing or Northfields.
You can pick up the 65 from South Ealing or the E2 from Northfields which drops you off a five minute walk from the Brook Road (away) entrance.
Alternatively it is a 25 minute walk from South Ealing and a similar distance from Northfields.
Gunnersbury
If using the District Line it may be advisable to get off at Gunnersbury station and take the 267, 237 or H91 to Griffin Park.
The 267 and 237 stop at Waterman's Centre, which is a five minute walk from Griffin Park. The H91 stops north of Griffin Park (before the petrol station) and is also a five minute walk.
Alternatively, it is a 25 minute walk from the station.
