Sone Aluko joked Fulham were too embroiled in Sunday's FA Cup tie against Tottenham to wish him a happy 28th birthday.
The Whites midfielder took to social media to castigate the club, but admitted, like everyone else he was too wrapped up to miss blowing out candles as the club blew it against Spurs.
A lack-lustre 3-0 defeat was hardly a fitting reward for a player who has lit up the Cottage since he arrived last summer from Hull.
But as he offered any journalist the chance of exclusive quotes for the so-called snub - Aluko did so tongue firmly in cheek.
He and the rest of the squad need to get back to celebrating wins - and have the perfect opportunity against Bristol City this evening who are Championship winners only once - and that against doomed Rotherham - in their last 12 outings.
