EDGAR Davids says Barnet's thrilling 3-3 draw with Aldershot Town felt like a victory after watching his side come back from the dead.

The Bees were 3-1 down with 20 minutes to go but Marciano Mengerink grabbed his  first goal for the club and Harry Crawford bundled in a late leveller to snatch a share of the spoils.

Barnet's first and second-half performances were like chalk and cheese and Davids wants to see more Jekyll and less Hyde from his topsy-turvy Bees in future.

He said: “If you're behind 3-1 then it definitely feels like a win, but if you see also the second-half then you don't understand how you can get in trouble in the first place.

“On one side I'm happy that they bounced back. On the second I'm wondering why they didn't play like that in the first-half.

“There were sloppy mistakes and sloppy goals. It's a hard-fought point though and I think they guys showed some backbone.”

Next up for Davids' side is a trip to Alfreton on Saturday where they will hope to replicate the fighting spirit once more.
