JOHN Arne Riise will return to the Fulham squad for the lunchtime kick-off against Arsenal.

The Norwegian defender was left out of the 18 for last weekend's win at Sunderland as speculation over his future continues.

However, with first choice left-back Kieran Richardson facing four weeks on the sidelines, Riise could be in line for a surprise recall to the side.

Boss Martin Jol said: “Kieran's got a torn hamstring. He was terrific – one of my best and fittest players – so to be injured again is a big disappointment.

“I've got [Matthew] Briggs and John Arne Riise, who will both be in the squad.

“It's a decision who will play against [Theo] Walcott. Both have played against him, so I don't see any problem.

“John's a very good boy and has a fantastic approach to his profession.

"The thing is John needs and deserves to play because he's reliable and always fit. If he plays he will do a job for us.”
