Kieran Richardson insists sentiment will go out of the window when he returns to West Brom tomorrow.

New Fulham boss Felix Magath, who replaced Rene Meulensteen at the helm last Friday, will be desperate to hit the ground running at The Hawthorns in a crucial relegation six-pointer.

Richardson was on loan at the Baggies in 2005, and scored the goal that helped them escape the drop by the skin of their teeth on the final day of the season.

Fulham are four points adrift of safety with just 12 games to go heading into the clash, but Richardson hopes he can emulate his success in the West Midlands.

He said: “I was on loan from United and it was one of the greatest moments of my career playing in that team and surviving. Hopefully I can do that with Fulham as well.

“It was a massive achievement. We were well out of it. I’ve been in this position before and I’m confident in my team-mates. The signs are there in the last two games and hopefully we can kick on.”

Fulham are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table, while West Brom climbed out of the drop zone after drawing with Chelsea 10 days ago.

And Richardson admits it’s a game the Cottagers can’t afford to lose.

He added: “They are in the same boat as us and it’s going to be even harder than the last two games we’ve played.

"They haven’t got the same quality as the other two teams, but their passion and desire is going to be up there with ours. It’s a must-win for us really. We can’t go there and lose.”
