Either Tommy Smith had a really impressive 13-minute cameo against his old club on Tuesday night, or some Watford fans have kindly added to his tally to secure their former favourite man of the match billing.

Either way, the former Hornets striker, who came on as a late sub during Brentford's 2-1 defeat, was the man voted by you, the fans, as your star man on the night.

Smith, who today gave his backing to under-fire Bees manager Mark Warburton, polled highest with an average rating of 8.7 out of 10.

This put him in first place ahead of defender Jake Bidwell, who perhaps got some sympathy votes for what many fans deemed to be a harsh sending off, as he polled an average 7.3 out of 10.

Third place went to David Button, whose penalty save from Troy Deeney may have meant nothing in the end, but helped him poll an average rating of 6.6, while another former Watford player, Toumani Diagouraga, sneaked into fourth place with an average 5.8 out of 10, just ahead of goalscorer Andre Gray on 5.2.
