QPR boss Harry Redknapp expects a flood of loanees to return this summer – but Joey Barton is unlikely to be one of them.

The Rs coach has already bemoaned the possibility of being left with a large mismatched squad numbering those he can’t sell or loan elsewhere, and expects the extra burden of deciding what to do with Djibril Cissé , Anton Ferdinand and Ali Faurlin when their loans abroad expire next month.

“They’re all under contract, and it looks as if they’re coming back," said the manager.

"They are not involved, they are playing in different countries, but we will see what happens when they come back.

“But I’d be surprised if Joey wanted to come back when you look at his lifestyle in Marseille, where he lives and he’s had a good season for them.

“But if he does have to come back and a deal can’t be done, he’s a good player.”
