Harry Redknapp says Rangers need to get a production line of youngsters going at the club – even if it won't be easy.

The QPR boss is set to blood teenager Coll Donaldson at Barnsley today (Saturday) and says he hopes others like him will follow.

“He's done well. He's got a great attitude. A smashing kid. I just think it's an opportunity to give him a game and I'm sure he'll do OK,” Redknapp said of his debutant.

“No-one wants to bring in kids more than me, but they've got to be good enough. If they're not good enough, there's no point.

"I brought all those kids in at West Ham and wherever I've been, but if they're not here there's nothing you can do. They've got to be good enough.

“That's an area we need to improve on in the future I think. We need to work hard to try and get kids in.

“But it's getting tougher. You're in London with Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham.

"Fulham are doing very well with their youth policy. They seem to be finding good kids at the moment.”
