QPR have been handed a difficult start to the season as they take on five clubs, all of whom will have realistic play-off aspirations.

In the month of August, the Hoops face Reading (h), Sheffield Wednesday (a), Norwich City (a), Hull City (h) and Cardiff City (a).

Safe to say the Loftus Road side have been handed one of the more difficult openings in the league, but how many points do you think the club can pick up through the month

The opening fixture against Reading, already, looks to be a crucial fixture. How the Royals respond to their play-off disappointment remains to be seen, but if Ian Holloway's men can spring an opening day surprise, it would massively shift the mindset of the club going into the August games.

Matches away against Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City are likely to be difficult affairs. Both clubs are likely to be in and around the top six by the end of the season, and taking them on in front of their refreshed home crowds, it could lead to two difficult afternoons.

QPR will be looking forward to the home clash against Hull, which on paper will be seen as a free-swing, however we've seen Premier League sides time and time again struggling to adapt back into the Championship, and if QPR can mount some early pressure, it could lead to a troublesome afternoon at Loftus Road for Leonid Slutsky and co.

The trip to Cardiff City will be seen as a must-win for QPR. After a difficult opening four fixtures, this match will be a huge opportunity to get a win.
