Chris Ramsey has called on his players whose deals at QPR are coming to an end to put themselves in the shop window so they either stay at the club for next season, or move elsewhere.

Eduardo Vargas, Joey Barton, Niko Kranjcar, Alejandro Faurlin, Karl Henry, Bobby Zamora, Richard Dunne, Brian Murphy and Clint Hill are all out of contract in the summer. Rangers have a buying option on Mauricio Isla.

While the club will be keen to keep hold of certain players, it is inevitable that some of those may leave the club and Ramsey wants them to remain motivated to earn a new deal.

He said: “I would say from an individual point of view; anyone out of contract would be working their guts off to get a new contract or put themselves in the shop window for someone else to give them a contract.

Uncertain future: QPR's Joey Barton

“Anyone in that situation would try their best to maintain their career; wherever it might be. If it’s here, they have to make sure that Les, the owners and myself or whoever is here that they provide value for the club next season.

“If others see a bad attitude it'd limit their options to where they can go in the future.

“You'd have to take into consideration what budget you're going to have.

“It'd be great to be mid-table knowing what budget you'd have and what sort of players you’ll attract.

“Where we are now, all the teams are tentative about their budget and the players they’re targeting.”
