QPR's latest man in the hot seat says he needs a bit of family help to get his message across.

Of course, Ian Holloway was joking when he said he needed his linguistically talented brother to talk to French striker Idrissa Sylla.

But it's left to the imagination how the gaffer's Bristolian vowels sound to a man who has spent most of his playing career in Belgium and is struggling to learn English.

Sylla was the last man to score for Hoops in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest before Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink got the sack.

The Guinea international bought from Anderlecht in the summer has hit four goals in eight appearances, but has also been hit and miss as Holloway seeks to ramp up the Rangers goal tally against Norwich at home tomorrow.

Nice one! Tjaronn Chery gets the gratitude

"I don't speak French so I'll maybe get my brother in to talk to Sylla," he said. "I need to get my point to him as quick as I can."

True to character, Ol also offered a collection of one-line first impressions on of his inherited squad.

"Ben Gladwin has unbelievable ability," Holloway added.

"Massimo Luongo has fantastic feet. He puts his foot in as well.

"Jordan Cousins was a great signing. He wanted to get forward and get his foot in. It's going to be unfair if I miss others out.

" Tjaronn Chery has the happiest feet I've seen. He's so sharp with great balance. He's got a great engine and keeps going and he was brilliant at Forest.

"(Olamide) Shodipo has all sorts of talent."
