QPR's new signing Josh Scowen says his "gut feeling" convinced him to move to Loftus Road ahead their competition.

The 24-year-old was widely linked with a move to Premier League side Huddersfield Town, as well as the likes of Aston Villa, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest.

Speaking to Get West London, he said: "I thought I'd done everything I could at Barnsley, and It seemed a good time to move on to try and Improve my career.

"Moving to London was a big factor. Me and my partner sat down and had a talk. She said it was my choice, and it's nice to be home and with my family.

"When i first heard about it my agent asked me if I had that gut feeling in my belly, and I did so it was an easy choice."

The hard-hitting midfielder also added that working under a manager as experienced as Ian Holloway was a huge sway to help him develop.

He said: "Ian was a massive factor. He explained what his role was for me, but obviously he's managed in the Premier League, he's been promoted a couple of times, and has a lot of experience to help the team and help me improve my game.

"I can't wait to get going, and the sooner the games start the better really!"
