QPR are waiting on whether Julio Cesar or Bobby Zamora can play any part in tomorrow’s six-pointer against Sunderland.

Keeper Cesar limped off toward the end of the heartening win against Southampton last week with a combination of dead leg and hamstring problems, and striker Zamora (pic) had an ankle problem even before the trip to St Mary’s.

Boss Harry Redknapp is awaiting reports on the two before he names his squad to face the Black Cats, but reckoned he may have found a target man anyway to fill Zamora’s boots.

He said: “We’re not really sure about either of them. We’ll have to look at them in training today.

"But Jay Bothroyd came in and did well for us – and he scored a goal.

“As far as keepers go, we’re lucky we’ve got two good ones. We’re well off in that position and Rob Green pulled off a fantastic save for us at Southampton.”

Rangers go in search of their first back-to-back wins since their return to the Premier League – but the omens are good.

In heads-to-head between the two bosses, Redknapp has the sign over Martin O’Neill. The Rs boss has faced his counterpart 11 times and won 10 of them – but Harry is looking only to get closer to safety.

He said: “It’s about time we got back-to-back wins.

“Martin’s got a couple of good strikers – but we’re at home. And although we started behind the eight ball when I came here, we’ve averaged a point a game.”
