QPR look doomed after Shaun Maloney's last-gasp free-kick denied them victory at Loftus Road.

Rangers were seconds away from earning a vital win thanks to Loic Remy's 85th-minute strike, despite playing most of the game with 10 men after Bobby Zamora's early red card.

However, Maloney popped up in the final minute of added time to earn the Latics a point and deal another huge blow to QPR's survival hopes.

Hoops boss Harry Redknapp made one change from the side that lost at Fulham last time out, with Junior Hoilett replacing Adel Taarabt.

It was end-to-end from the start, with Callum McManaman shooting tamely at Julio Cesar, while Remy rattled the post.

However, the hosts were dealt a big blow midway through the half when Zamora was given a straight red for a high tackle on Jordi Gomez.

Wigan failed to make their man advantage count, with Cesar getting down low to his left to deny James McCarthy.

QPR introduced Taarabt after the break, and the Moroccan came close to helping the Rs in front, but Remy headed his cross the wrong side of the post.

The 10 men continued to dominate, but Wigan should've took the lead through sub James McArthur, but he headed straight at Cesar after being picked out by Maloney.

However, Rangers opened the scoring five minutes from time.

Stephane Mbia broke away after Maynor Figueroa's free-kick was blocked, and he teed-up Remy to fire home from the edge of the box.

But the Rs shot themselves in the foot at the death after Mbia gave away a cheap free-kick at the edge of the box, and Maloney stepped up to break QPR hearts.

QPR: Cesar, Bosingwa, Hill, Samba, Traore (Onuoha 46), Mbia, Jenas, Townsend, Hoilett (Taarabt 56), Zamora, Remy (Mackie 89).

Subs (not used): Green, Ben Haim, Granero, Park.
