SOUTHEND United will make a decision on Rowan Vine's future within the next 48 hours.

The QPR striker scored the only goal of the game in an appearance for a Shrimpers second string against Oxford yesterday afternoon.

Vine hasn't featured for Rangers since April 2010, and has spent temporary spells with Hull, MK Dons, Brentford and Exeter.

And Southend boss Paul Sturrock is expected to decide in the next couple of days whether to bring the 29-year-old to Roots Hall on loan to boost their League Two promotion bid.
