JAMIE Mackie insists skipper Joey Barton won't be affected by the QPR boo-boys after being targeted during last night's win against Liverpool.

The midfielder came in for stick from his own supporters when he was replaced by Mackie just after the hour mark.

Mackie, who went on to score a dramatic injury-time winner, was sure there would be little self-pity from Barton, and has urged fans to pull together ahead of the relegation run-in

He said: “You don’t like to see that – he’s the captain, but he’s immensely strong.

“One thing about Joey – he never hides and wants the ball no matter what, and he was the happiest player in the changing room after. I don’t need to answer any questions for him.”
