QPR fans believe Conor Washington is going to be a big hit next season - despite scoring more for Northern Ireland than Hoops.

Above are ones he banged in for Peterborough before his transfer to Loftus Road.

He also hit the back of the net when it mattered most and secured a place in his country's 23-man squad for Euros 2016.

Washington was on target in the 3-0 win over Belarus on Friday night, even though he was on the pitch for only 61 minutes.

It was enough to convince NI boss Michael O'Neill he should get a squad place, even though he has made only seven starts for Rs since his move in January.

Fans on forums and twitter accounts were almost unanimous in believing the 24-year-old will get far more game time next season.

'Maidstone Hoop' on We Are the Rangers Boys summed up the mood.

"I reckon (Sebastian) Polter and Washington could be a right handful for defenders next season if we buy right in midfield and on the wings. They need game time together imo!"

"It’s incredible," Washington told www.qpr.co.uk

“To get this opportunity after coming into the squad so late is amazing. As a young boy you dream about pitting yourself against the best players in the world.

"I’m really looking forward to it now."

Others below echoed the Washington well-wishers.
