QPR are ready to ramp up a bid to bring Andros Towsnend back to Loftus Road.

The Spurs winger (pic) was one of the few rays of light in an otherwise gloomy 2012-13 season, and for the first time boss Harry Redknapp thinks an audacious bid for the England U21 could be on.

But Harry reckons any return for the player who arrived in January and hit two goals in 12 appearances, would be yet another borrow from Tottenham.

The manager said: “Andros did great last season but Tottenham don’t want to sell him as far as I know.

“I couldn’t see us being able to buy him. I think he would be too expensive for us. I’d love to loan him, but whether they would do that I’m not sure.”

Harry’s chances got increased over the weekend as a result of the North London giants’ interest in Tom Ince at Blackpool that would further push Townsend down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.
