QPR’s captain has lambasted new goalline technology as grossly unfair to everyone outside the Premier League.

It is an incredible admission from Clint Hill , because the Rs defender was denied a goal the last time he was at Bolton when the ball clearly crossed the line but was missed by officials.

Fast-forward from Rs’ 2-1 defeat in March 2012, and had Hill’s non-counting header come in tomorrow’s (Saturday) visit to The Reebok, the ref’s watch might have bleeped ‘goal’ thanks to a new tennis-type Hawk-Eye.

But it will not because both teams are now in the Championship, and the 34-year-old declared he would call time on technology until all Football League clubs enjoy the same advantages.

“I don’t see how it can’t be a level playing field,” Hill said. “If you bring in that type of technology then it should be shared among the football community.

"Just because it is the Premier League and that’s where the money is, that seems to be where the technology is.

“Is that where decisions matter? What about the Championship, League One and League Two, why don’t their decisions matter?

“They are not in the papers every day and there is not the same exposure. I don’t know why, is it money?

“But it should be filtered right the way through professional football. The same things happen in League Two as the Premier League, it’s just the exposure that you get.”

Hill agreed he would need a straitjacket if Rangers were to reach next May’s Championship play-off final at Wembley where he scored another in front of 80,000, only to see it ruled out because the officials failed to spot it.

“Whoever is in that play-off final, if they didn’t go up because of a decision, it would be absolutely soul-destroying,” he added.

“Everything you would have done through the whole season and a decision goes against you when you know the technology is out there, but has not been filtered down.”
