QPR completed the loan signing of Poland international Pawel Wszołek from Serie B side Verona.

Here's what the winger bring to the Loftus Road table.

Why sign this player?

The clue is in what head coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink had to say: ‘He’s a very hardworking player,” he told www.qpr.co.uk

Jim likes the grafters - and why not?

You don’t get out of the Championship without putting in a shift.

Wszołek also has a decent left foot, and with those in short supply on the left everywhere, never mind Rangers, he looks the business as an obvious replacement for Junior Hoilett, with Ben Gladwin and Olamide Shodipo as back-up.

Happy to become a Hoop - not so keen to join Hannover 96

The midfielder was the subject of a bizarre deal that would have seen him join the Germans from Polonia Warsaw in 2013, only for him to have a bust-up with his agent outside Hannover’s stadium.

It appears Polonia were keen to force the deal as was the agent. Not so keen was Wszołek, who claimed he had been treated like a ‘prostitute’ - and refused to sign.

It helps somewhat to get your international career back in track

Poland and Wszołek have seen their fair share of ups and downs. In May, he fell on his left hand and broke it in training - it cost him a place at Euro 2016.

It was a pity after he had hit the net twice in a 5-0 win over Finland in March.

Earlier still, he made his debut against South Africa in 2012, and a few days later got 63 minutes as a starter against England in a World Cup qualifier - remember the postponed game after the original was washed out by a deluge?

Lack of game time in Italy answers the question - why only eight caps so far?

The pitfalls of Serie A

After that failed move to Hannover, Wszołek joined Sampdoria only to see the man who signed him get the sack.

He got little time from his successor, and eventually moved to Verona where he was relegated with the club and saw red on the final day of last season - but got a permanent deal in the city of Romeo and Juliet.

A star-crossed signing? Rangers hope otherwise.
