Queens Park Rangers boss thinks his side can be "as good as Brighton", defender James Perch has revealed.

The Hoops were narrowly beaten on Friday night at Loftus Road by the Championship leaders.

Holloway was a frustrated figure in the dressing room post-match, because he can see the potential in his side.

Indeed, thoughts are slightly turning to what Rangers can do next season, with pre-season a big chance to take things further under Holloway.

And Perch thinks a few more tweaks and better mindset can push the team on for what they want to achieve next year.

"We're not miles away. The gaffer was raging in the dressing room (on Friday) because he thinks we can be as good as Brighton," the defender told Get West London.

"They've just got and had that consistency all season, but also from the last two or three seasons which keeps them up there.

"That's where we've been lacking and hopefully that will come. The gaffer is working on things. When he first came in, we knew it was going to take time.

"Hopefully, pre-season this summer - and I'm not writing this season off - but pre-season will be a time to work on stuff."
