QPR are poised to terminate Kieron Dyer’s contract – despite earlier assurances they would keep the stricken defender until the end of the season.
The former England international lasted just three minutes before hobbling off with a foot injury in opening game of the season against Bolton.
A reserve game against Spurs in December aggravated the problem and there was a clause in the 33-year-old’s one-year deal that could have seen him offloaded in the New Year.
Previous boss Neil Warnock insisted the club would honour the contract. But Gazette/Chronicle sport has learned Rangers are in negotiations with Dyer (pic) to pull the curtains down on one of the shortest playing careers of anyone pulling on a Hoops shirt.
