Jordan Cousins is back from injury insisting he has a big part to play in QPR’s second half of the season - and well aware of what he needs to do in order to catch his boss’s eye.

Left out of the squad for the 2-1 defeat by Huddersfield at the weekend, the £1.2m signing from Charlton believes a goal or two wouldn’t come amiss.

Cousins has only notched five in three seasons, and admits upping his tally is on the to-do list.

“When it comes to scoring goals I would love to score more than I actually do, but it is not at the forefront of my mind when I play football,” he said.

“My aim is to contribute, get about the pitch and supply the strikers with as many chances as I can.

"But obviously, if I want to take my game to the next level, goal-scoring is something I have got to work on and I’m conscious of that. It is something I look to improve on in training.

“I have got time and plenty of years ahead of me to try and iron that out.”
