QPR midfielder Massimo Luongo featured as Australia boosted their hopes of automatic qualification to the 2018 Fifa World Cup.

The Socceroos beat Saudi Arabia 3-2 in a thrilling contest in Adelaide.

Saudi Arabia came from behind twice in an end-to-end first half, which saw a Tomi Juric brace cancelled out by strikes from Salem Al-Dawsari and Mohammed Al Sahlawi.

Queens Park Rangers star Luongo came on as a late substitute for the Socceroos, who saw victory thanks to a stunning 64th minute winner from Celtic's Tom Rogic.

Victory move Australia level on points with their opponents with two qualifiers remaining.
