Karl Henry believes QPR's new cut-price regime is no stop to him signing a new contract.

Rangers have made it plain they have no intention of paying the massive wages of the past, that might yet deter £40k-a-week Junior Hoilett from renewing his stay with Hoops.

But central defensive midfielder Henry thinks his modest demands fit well within the structure of a club looking for bargains.

Henry said: "I think cutting the budget won't really affect my wages. It doesn't really affect me.

"I think I missed that boat when I joined the club. A smaller budget won't affect whether I stay or go."

The unsung hero is one of only two Rangers out of contract along with Hoilett being offered new terms. Seven others, including fans favourites Clint Hill and Alejanrdo Faurlin have already been released.

Henry made 39 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring once: the winner against Bristol City in the final game of the season.
