Karl Henry admits he is QPR's harbinger of doom after what happened to him at Wolves last season.

The midfielder has a way to go before emulating Private Frazer in Dad's Army whose wild-eyed stares preceded the cry: 'we're all doomed, I tell ye..."

But the man who scored the winner against Bolton on Tuesday night revealed his misery at Molineux has been imparted to Rangers team-mates by way of warning.

The midfielder’s former club was a favourite for promotion – just like Rangers, but ended up getting relegated instead.

“When expectations are too high that can happen,” explained Henry. “But to get relegated with the team we had at Wolves was a disgrace. It brought home how tough this league is.

"I did speak to players here at Rangers about it. But to play averagely as we have been doing, and still get results bodes a lot better.”

The midfielder who joined Hoops in the summer, also insists leaders Leicester can be caught even if the Foxes are currently eight points clear.

Henry said: “It’s the way this league is on any given day.

“If they (Leicester) have a couple of dodgy results it will affect their confidence. And I’ve no doubt they will slip up between now and the end of the season and we’ve not given up hope of catching them by a long chalk.”
