QPR boss Ian Holloway launched into a full-on rant around the current debate around whether the summer transfer window should shut early, saying that it would have a hugely negative impact on those outside of the top.

Speaking in an interview with Ian Abrahams on TalkSPORT, Holloway said: "At our level, and lower than us, if you have a transfer window that slams shut you’re going to stop people getting jobs. I’m telling you. That’s a fact.

“I’m telling the people in charge: we don’t need that in this country!

“We don’t need to follow them, they need to follow us. Our system has worked for years and years.

“We need emergency loans the lower down you go, even in the Championship.

“What I don’t like is, I’ve had a few players who have been injured, can I get them out on loan if I need to? What if they’re out of contract in the summer? I need them to get games under their belts so teams can see they’ve played. They’ve worked too hard to just sit here doing nothing.

“With this new rule, they aren’t going to be taken. That isn’t fair!

“It’s all nonsense, but no one ever stands up and talks sense. It’s absolutely rubbish, ask anybody at our level.

“Who’s telling us this? Who is it? Who are they? Is it UEFA or FIFA? Who are you?

“Get someone from Brussels to tell me how that works. Come over here and if you think it makes sense come and have a go then. You’re going to cost some of our lads jobs and it isn’t right!

“We need our league to stand up and say actually we’re not going to do it, because how can they make us do it?

“Our country knows what we’re doing. Maybe they should copy us for a change. [But] we haven’t got the power, we keep bending the knee. Get stuffed, it’s rubbish!

“It’s absolutely totally wrong. We don’t need these stupid rules being changed at all.”
