It took less than a heartbeat for QPR chief executive Lee Hoos to decide changing the colour of match tickets at Loftus Road would add to safety measures in place.

At last week's fans forum, a supporter raised the problem of away fans getting into home pubs and hangouts around the ground and in Uxbridge Road because their tickets look exactly the same as those bought by home fans.

It appears the showing of a ticket gets you past pub doormen enforcing supporter segregation.

The fan asked: “Quite a few of them have asked the same question time and time again: why can’t the colour of the tickets be changed? Because quite a few get into the pubs local, and it’s never been changed.

“I can’t see why there’s problem in changing the colour for away fans?”

“Me either,” said Hoos, noting the point for future action.
