ANDROS Townsend has been ruled out of a QPR loan move by boss Harry Redknapp – especially after the Tottenham player’s fine performance against Dinamo Tbilisi last night.

The winger (pic) capped off a great display with the opening goal in a 5-0 away rout at the Europa League qualifying play-off tie.

And any hope Harry harboured of reclaiming the player he brought to Rangers last season on loan, flew out of the window in the Georgia capital.

“It was good to see him play so well, and I’m glad QPR played a part in his development, and that certainly pushed him on to where he is now,” said Redknapp.

“He had nine loans before that, and with us it was his first chance to show what he could do at top level and done his confidence a world of good, but bringing him to QPR? No, definitely no.”

In fact, the chance of luring anyone from White Hart Lane to rejoin the Spurs ex-boss in west London were also kyboshed by Redknapp.

Striker Jermain Defoe and left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto are on a wants list, but Harry reckons it would be nigh on impossible to get either.

“Anyone would like Jermain, but it’s a difficult one really. They’re both Spurs players and it would be hard.”
