QPR will kick off the 2015-16 season in a 3,000 capacity stadium against one of the giants of European football.

The Stadio Carlo Pedro Pedroli may have been designed by the man who built the San Siro, but the tiny enclave at the foot of the Italian Alps is where Chris Ramsey’s men line up against Shakhtar Donetsk on July 11 as part of Hoops’ training camp.

The former Uefa cup winners and perennial Champions League entrants boast Brazilian stars Fred and Luiz Adriano.

And just three days later, Rangers return to the same venue for a match where Champions League quarter-finalists AS Monaco are the opposition.

On Friday, July 17, Saudi Arabian champions will provide a run out for new signings Massimo Luongo and Ben Gladwin (see gallery) in the Stadio Franco Ossola across Lake Maggiore from the previous two games.

A hectic six-game schedule continues closer to home against Dundee United at Barnet’s The Hive stadium on July 22, kick-off 7.30pm

The following Sunday it’s Newport County away at Rodney Parade (2pm) and finally the one and only game at Loftus Road on Sunday August 2 against Serie A Chievo Verona, kick-off 12.45pm.

Director of football Les Ferdinand is delighted with the programme.

“The Italy training camp will be paramount for Chris and his staff to get to work with the players,” he said.

“We’ve arranged three good, competitive fixtures in Italy, before we come back and play three more in the UK, culminating with a friendly in front of our own supporters at Loftus Road, which – during my time as a player – I always thought was incredibly important ahead of the season starting.”

In addition, QPR women will celebrate Cambridge Women’s merger with Cambridge United by taking on the merged team at the Abbey Stadium on July 30.
