Jake Bidwell admits he has no idea what it will take to avoid a flirt with Championship relegation.

The perceived wisdom is a magical 50 points does the job.

But with Saturday's FA Cup conquerors Blackburn already on 24 in the last drop spot - it might come down to the first time since 2007 the half century gets breached.

A year ago, MK Dons were in the first safety spot; they had played a game more; and were only 23 points to the good.

Burton occupy it now on 25, and like Dons are on short odds to return to League One at the first time of asking.

“We haven’t spoken about that sort of milestone (50 points)” last week’s QPR consolation penalty taker against Rovers said.

“It has literally been onto the next game and try to get a bit of momentum going obviously.

“We had a bit of a bad run that went on longer than anyone would have liked. We managed to turn that around with back to back wins and we are just trying to build on that.

"So, we haven’t really spoken about an end goal if you like.

“With games coming thick and fast over Christmas it has been about preparation, recovery and moving onto the next one.”

Reading await Hoops in a live TV game at the Madekski Stadium tonight.
