QPR have hushed talk of some of the club's youngsters stepping up to the first team after naming their under-23s side to face Crystal Palace.

The likes of Osman Kakay and Giles Phillips were both discussed as options to ease Ian Holloway's defensive crisis, however they both are named in Paul Hall's side to face Palace at Harlington.

Other players to start for the under-23s include the likes of Paul Smyth, Charlie Owens, Aramide Oteh and Olamide Shodipo, all of whom may be looking to make a first team breakthrough this season.

QPR under-23s: Herdman, Kakay, Fox, Wallen, Paul, Phillips, Smyth, Owens, Oteh, Tilt, Shodipo.

Subs: Darbyshire, Hudnott, Rowe, Eshun.
