QPR boss Chris Ramsey admits he will step up a move for Adlene Guedioura - not least because the Crystal Palace midfielder exemplifies the way he wants Rangers to go in the future.

Ramsey believes the way to get the best out of Jamie Mackie is to feed the ball into the forward’s feet or down the channels - and that’s where the 29-year-old Algerian international comes in.

Rs plan: Adlene Guedioura in action for Watford with Millwall's Edward Upson

Guedioura impressed when on loan at Watford last season but since his move Selhurst Park from Nottingham Forest in 2013 has found first-team action hard to come by.

Ramsey explained: “He’s good on the ball and he’s another playmaker I think we need. (Note video supporting Ramsey claims).

“If you have people like Jamie Mackie who lies to make runs, you do need people who can knock the ball about, and we need to change the perception of where we were last season when we went directly early, and play a slightly more attractive game of football.

“We do need more quality players.”
