Defender Darnell Furlong has agreed a new deal at QPR which keeps him at Loftus Road until the summer of 2019.
The 21 year old has recently returned from a loan spell at Swindon Town to feature in the R’s last two Championship fixtures.
The son of former Rs striker and current academy coach Paul Furlong expressed his delight at committing his future to the club his dad served so well.
“I’m delighted to have the contract sorted,” he told \u0013 the club's website. “It’s a massive boost for me personally – and a fresh chance for me.
“I’ve really enjoyed the last few weeks and it’s given me a taste of first team football at QPR – and now I’ve signed this new deal, I can really focus on kicking on.
“I want to get as many minutes under my belt as possible and help push this club forward. That’s what we’re all striving for.
“The manager has been unbelievable with me since I’ve been back here. He’s really helped fill me with confidence, and for any young player that’s a massive thing.
“He’s given me a freedom to express myself, and I’m really looking forward to working with him for a very long time here at QPR.”
