THE BAR denied QPR a second win on the spin when Charlie Austin and Joey Barton hit the frame twice in five second-half seconds.

Huddersfield also missed chances to win it – but in the end a share of the points was harsh on Hoops.

The home side got away with it when Austin totally miscued a shot after being cleverly played in by Andy Johnson as Rangers piled forward.

The returning Esteban Granero upended Adam Hammill and was duly booked, but Austin’s next effort on the turn was a sparking volley that only rippled the side netting.

But in a stop-start first half hour, Clint Hill slipped and let Matt Paterson clear sight of goal but the Town forward dragged his shot woefully wide much to the Rs captain’s relief.

There was no such reprieve when Hammill was afforded room to send in a cross even though surrounded, and James Vaughan headed down beyond Rob Green.

Misery became mirth just two minutes later.

At the second attempt Yun’s energetic burst down the left was poorly defended much to Junior Hoilett’s delight. His caress with the outside of the right beat keeper Alex Smithies all hands down for the leveller.

The scorer tested the keeper again early in the second period – this time Smithies was equal to the task from close in.

The under-siege custodian was beaten by a margin when Austin’s flicked header hit the bar as he met Johnson's early cross. Joey Barton was inches from heading in the rebound but also succeeded in striking wood.

Austin from range found the side netting for a second time, and Smithies finger-tipped away a cross with Hill ready to head home.

But Rs got a let off when Sean Scannell flicked wide from 12 yards almost at the death. And the game got a frantic finale when sub Shaun Wright-Phillips was also denied a winner.
