HEIDAR Helguson's first-half penalty earned QPR bragging rights with victory over nine-man Chelsea.
The hosts got off to a dream start when Helguson fired them in front from the penalty spot.
The Iceman was nudged over in the box by David Luiz, and stepped up to slot the ball beyond Petr Cech from 12 yards.
Things got even worse for Chelsea just after the half-hour mark when Jose Bosingwa was given first use of the shower gel for bundling over Shaun Wright-Phillips.
The Blues' nightmare half was rounded off just before the break when Didier Drogba followed his team-mate down the tunnel for a two-footed lunge on Adel Taarabt.
Chelsea came out fighting after the interval, with Frank Lampard's header deflected wide, but Rangers almost doubled their lead moments later when Luke Young broke free, only to drag his shot the wrong side of the post.
The visitors had a penalty appeal away when Lampard fell down under the challenge of Fitz Hall, while at the other end, Joey Barton missed by a whisker after running the length of the pitch.
Helguson missed a gilt-edged chance to wrap up victory when he fired over from Young's free-kick, and Rangers were almost made to pay when Anelka headed straight at Paddy Kenny from six yards.
QPR fans had to endure a nail-biting five minutes of added time, but the hosts held on for the points to record their first home win this season.
