QPR will see how they fare over the next dozen games before deciding Charlie Austin's fate in January.

The Rs camp will not stand in the way of their £15m man if he gets the move he wants in the next transfer window.

However, if Hoops are in contention for a return to the Premier League, they might reserve the right to hang on to the striker that could make the difference in getting them over the line.

Chris Ramsey insisted he would be delighted if the speculation over his prize forward continued unabated.

According to the Rs head coach, it meant the England forward was playing well, and getting closer to an inclusion in the national squad for Euros 2016.

January wait: Austin (L)

Ramsey added: “We hope we do have the speculation because it shows he’s done well, and he scores a hatful of goals, and we find it difficult to keep him.

“He then could fulfil his chances of playing for England in the Euros, especially as he’s been developing his overall game.

“But right now, we’re looking short and medium term. We’ll see how success goes for us, and then look at the next transfer window.

“Everyone’s got their price, but I’m happily flabbergasted that no one met ours in the last window.”
