Chris Ramsey knows he is under pressure to try and keep QPR in the Premier League but is trying to make sure it remains on his shoulders and not transfer to his players.

Rangers are two points from safety but have an inferior goal difference to their rivals although have that advantage over Sunderland, who are just a point further away.

And he is trying to remain calm as the battle to survive in the top flight reaches a thrilling conclusion.

He said: “I think you know the enormity of the task ahead but you can only plan and prepare as best you can and what happens happens.

“We understand there is pressure in these last few games. I can't say I don't feel pressure but it depends on how you deal with it.

“It's trying to make sure the players don't feel it because what happened against Chelsea, everyone was so happy with what we've done until that point but that last minute lack of concentration showed you can't do that.”

Aside from Leicester, QPR are facing sides who are struggling for form starting with West Ham who have plummeted down the table after such a strong start.

They also face Liverpool and Manchester City away, who have been unable to match the heights of last season.

Newcastle, who have lost their last six games, are the club's final home game before a trip to the Foxes on the final day.

Ramsey added: “When you're facing a derby you look at that as a difficult battle and you look at Liverpool and Man City and they can give anybody, top or bottom, a tough match or beat them heavily.

“Looking at those games, you're looking at that and think it's difficult. Newcastle have some good players and they're not going to lie down. Leicester could be anything.

“We're hoping we're in the fight to that game but we'd like to be going there safe and having nothing to play for.”

Rio Ferdinand will be missing Saturday's game with the Hammers but Leroy Fer may be available.
