And Redknapp felt the absence of Eduardo Vargas and Mauricio Isla played a significant part in a sixth consecutive league defeat on the road.
He said: "When you go away from home you need a bit of pace on the break and we are not blessed with pace.
"We missed Vargas today. His wife had gone into labour so he wasn't available and then Isla arrived late back on Thursday night.
"He looked absolutely out on his feet on Friday morning having played two games this week in South America so there was no way he could play.
"That took a bit away from us because them two are quick-attacking players if you like and we missed them today."
Redknapp is also sweating on an injury to Sandro who was forced to go off on the hour mark.
He added: "I'm not sure what he's done to his knee but it didn't look good."
