HARRY Redknapp has revealed Adel Taarabt has only trained twice since QPR returned for pre-season almost a month ago.
The mercurial midfielder was sent home from the club's pre-season training camp in Devon, and was already on skirting with danger when he fell out with the manager towards the end of last term.
Taarabt is apparently interesting ex-Rs boss Mark Hughes at Stoke, but a host of players that didn’t turn out against Southend last night that include Ji Sung Park and Joey Barton are expected to play in a closed doors friendly against Leyton Orient today.
Redknapp said: “Joey Barton will play, Ji Sung Park and lots of them. Adel Taarabt trained the first two days and hasn’t been on the training pitch since. Will I sell him? Someone’s got to buy him.
“I wanted to give players as much time as possible a chance to get fit, and rather than have them sit on a bench for 45 minutes (at Southend) this game gives them a bit more.”
But Loic Remy hasn’t trained either and is unlikely to feature in the opening match of the season against Sheffield Wednesday next week.
The striker faces an uncertain future and is due to being bailed until September over a rape allegation – which he denies, but is also likely to be snapped up by a Premier League club before the end of the transfer window in August.
“I’ve got Loic Remy but I’m not sure what’s happening with him, and if he goes we need two more strikers.
“Remy is not fit, but hopefully he’ll be back training Wednesday and might be fit for next Saturday.”
