QPR midfielder Tom Carroll has everything Michael Carrick’s got – and maybe a bit more.

Rs boss Harry Redknapp (pic) is adamant England’s future is in safe hands with Carroll, and reckons there are major similarities between the Manchester United star and the 21-year-old Spurs loanee snapped up just before transfer deadline.

Harry spotted Carroll when he was only 15, and has kept tabs on him ever since. He was positively purring about landing the England U21 international who is likely to make his debut against Birmingham later today.

The manager said: “Tom reminds me of Michael Carrick, and I signed him (Carroll) when he was 15 and he plays like Michael.

“Tom sees everything. He never gives the ball away. He never gets caught with it and he’s a fantastic passer.”

He joked: “He keeps passing the ball to someone in his own team. He keeps passing to someone with the same shirt as him.

“And in training here at QPR he blew everyone’s brains out. Bang, bang, bang went the passes; he’s got such quick feet.”
